Qatar’s Emir Accepts PM Shehbaz Sharif’s Invitation to Visit Pakistan

Islamabad: Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has accepted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s invitation to visit Pakistan and expressed his desire to undertake the visit later this year.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held a cordial and friendly telephone conversation during which they discussed bilateral relations, regional developments, and ongoing diplomatic efforts for peace.

The Qatari leader congratulated the prime minister on Pakistan’s successful diplomatic initiatives and praised his leadership. Sheikh Tamim also reaffirmed Qatar’s full support for Pakistan’s efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked Qatar for its continued cooperation and support in peace initiatives. He noted that the recent diplomatic achievements were made possible through the tireless efforts of Field Marshal Asim Munir and the support of friendly countries, including Qatar.

During the conversation, both leaders expressed satisfaction over the first round of technical-level talks between the United States and Iran held in Switzerland. They agreed that positive momentum should continue in order to ensure the success of the negotiations and stressed the importance of protecting the dialogue process from any actions that could undermine it.

The statement also noted that Sheikh Tamim conveyed his condolences over the death of a Pakistani citizen in the Barzan gas facility incident. Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked the Emir for his sympathy and support.

Recalling his recent visit to Doha, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formally invited the Emir to visit Pakistan. Sheikh Tamim accepted the invitation and expressed his desire to travel to Pakistan before the end of the year.

Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations on matters of mutual interest in the coming months, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and regional cooperation.
