Trump’s Cold Reception of Modi at G7 Summit Draws Attention in Indian Media

PARIS:The interaction between US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G7 Summit has become a topic of discussion in Indian media, with reports highlighting what many observers described as a noticeably reserved exchange between the two leaders.
The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the summit, marked their first face-to-face encounter in approximately 16 months. However, commentators noted that the warmth and camaraderie often associated with previous meetings between Trump and Modi appeared to be absent.

Attention was further drawn to their body language during the official group photograph session. As world leaders exited the meeting hall for the photo opportunity, observers noted a visible distance between Trump and Modi, prompting speculation and discussion across traditional and social media platforms.

Images and videos from the summit quickly circulated online, with users offering varying interpretations of the interaction. Some viewed the exchange as a sign of changing diplomatic dynamics, while others cautioned against reading too much into brief public moments.
Neither Washington nor New Delhi has commented on the significance of the interaction, and no official indication has been given that the relationship between the two countries has changed.
Nevertheless, the scenes from the G7 gathering have generated considerable interest, particularly in India, where the meeting was closely watched due to the leaders’ long-standing public rapport.
