Some Members of Defunct Committee Working on Anti-State Agenda: Barrister Aqeel Malik

Islamabad (Kudrat Daily) — Minister of State for Law Barrister Aqeel Malik has said that authorities are closely monitoring contacts of the banned Joint Action Committee, adding that some individuals within the group are allegedly involved in an anti-state agenda.

Speaking to the media in Taxila, he said there is no possibility of martial law in Pakistan and that the law will take its own course against those violating legal boundaries.

He stated that intelligence and monitoring agencies are keeping a close watch on the activities and communications of the banned committee, adding that a few individuals within the group are acting against national interests.

Barrister Aqeel Malik further claimed that there is concrete evidence of interference by India’s intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), in the Kashmir issue, and suggested that statements from TTP also indicate foreign involvement.

He added that any decision regarding the 12 seats in Azad Kashmir will be made within the elected legislative assembly of Azad Kashmir.
