Actress Momina Iqbal Files PECA Case Against Punjab Lawmaker Saqib Chadhar Over Alleged Cyber Harassment

Lahore: Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has filed a case under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) against Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar, accusing him, his wife, and their associates of cyber harassment, blackmail, and misuse of private digital data.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) registered with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), the complainant alleged that the accused unlawfully obtained private and sexually explicit video material without her consent and used it to harass, intimidate, and exert pressure on her. The FIR further states that the material was also sent to the actress and her sister.

The complaint alleges that Samira Siddiq sent insulting and defamatory messages to the complainant through a WhatsApp number reportedly registered in her name.

According to investigation records, the accused were directed on May 21, 2026, to submit their mobile phones for forensic examination. Investigators claim that Samira Siddiq did not submit her device, while Saqib Chadhar handed over his mobile phone on June 3, 2026. The device was taken into custody and sealed for examination.

The preliminary forensic report reportedly found that social media applications and related data were missing from the phone, raising suspicions that certain content may have been deleted before submission.

Investigators also reviewed call data records and IMEI information, which allegedly indicated that the device and SIM cards under scrutiny were being used by the accused.

The FIR further alleges that the complainant’s personal mobile data was obtained illegally and later used for harassment, blackmail, and character assassination. Authorities claim the material was acquired without authorization and shared with the complainant and her family members.

A case has been registered under various provisions of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and the Pakistan Penal Code, and an investigation is currently underway.

The allegations contained in the FIR remain claims by the complainant and investigating authorities. The case is under investigation, and the accused have not been convicted of any wrongdoing by a court of law.
