Protest Rally Announced Against Inflation and Fuel Price Hikes on May 22

Jacobabad (Kudrat News) — On the directives of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, a major district-level protest rally will be held in Jacobabad on May 22 against rising inflation and repeated increases in petroleum product prices, as part of nationwide demonstrations.

According to details, the protest rally will start from Subhani Mosque, DC Chowk, under the leadership of JUI Sindh Press Secretary Dr. A.G. Ansari and District General Secretary Maulana Saleemullah Brohi. The rally will later turn into a sit-in protest outside the Jacobabad Press Club.

During a door-to-door awareness campaign, JUI Sindh Press Secretary Dr. A.G. Ansari said that rising inflation has severely affected the lives of ordinary citizens.

He stated that the major causes of inflation include economic mismanagement, the rising value of the US dollar, continuous increases in petroleum prices, profiteering, hoarding, and black marketing. He added that relevant institutions are acting as silent spectators, which could pose serious risks not only to the national economy but also to social stability.

He further said that the government, business community, and concerned institutions must work together to formulate policies that provide real relief to the public, otherwise the situation may become more critical.
