Kidnapping Farmers for Ransom Will Not Bring Freedom, Says Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri

Quetta – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) central leader and former Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri has strongly condemned the kidnapping of farmers and peasants for ransom, stating that such acts neither lead to freedom nor reflect any legitimate cause.
Addressing concerns over a recent kidnapping incident in the Rabi area of Nasirabad, Zehri demanded the immediate safe release of two members of the Zehri tribe, Muhammad Ali (Pandrani) Zehri and Muhammad Khan (Pandrani) Zehri, who were reportedly abducted.
Expressing serious concern over the situation, he said that he should not be forced to take strict measures, adding that the Zehri tribe is fully capable of defending its people and interests. However, he emphasized that tribal elders are currently exercising restraint to avoid escalation and bloodshed.
Nawab Zehri stated that the Zehri tribe, including its more than 50 sub-branches, is settled across Balochistan and Sindh, and cannot be treated as “unprotected or abandoned.”
He said that abducting poor farmers and laborers for ransom and subjecting them to violence is unacceptable under any law. “No freedom can be achieved through such actions; real legitimacy comes from winning public support and trust,” he added.
He further asserted that the Zehri tribe has never paid ransom in the past and will not do so in the future.
Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri called for the immediate recovery of the kidnapped individuals and warned that continued targeting of innocent civilians could force serious responses from tribal leadership.
