JUI-B Senator Condemns “Anti-Sharia Bill” in Balochistan Assembly, Accuses Govt of Pushing Western Agenda

**Quetta:** Senator **Maulana Abdul Wasee**, provincial chief of **Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Balochistan)**, has strongly condemned the approval of the so-called **“Anti-Sharia Bill”** in the Balochistan Assembly, calling it a direct affront to **public religious sentiments** and contrary to the **Quran, Sunnah, and Pakistan’s Islamic foundation**.

Speaking to the press, Maulana Abdul Wasee criticized several provisions of the bill related to marriage, stating they are clearly **against Shariah law**. He also accused the provincial government of **irresponsibility, stubbornness, and haste** in pushing the bill through, ignoring protests, slogans, and opposition from JUI-B members, which he described as a **violation of parliamentary traditions**.

The senator further alleged that the government is advancing a **Western agenda under pressure from foreign-funded NGOs**. He also questioned the government’s refusal to send the bill to the **Council of Islamic Ideology**, calling it indicative of the administration’s intentions.

JUI-B announced that it **will not accept this anti-Sharia legislation under any circumstances** and promised to soon unveil a **strong strategy involving public engagement** to counter the bill.
