CM Sohail Afridi Holds Protest Over Imran Khan’s Treatment and Family Meeting Restrictions

RAWALPINDI: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi staged a protest along with the sisters of former Prime Minister and PTI founder, raising concerns over restrictions on his medical treatment and meetings with family members.
According to reports, heavy police contingents sealed off Adiala Road by placing barricades, completely blocking the main route. The protest took place near the Factory Checkpost on Adiala Road, where party leaders and supporters also gathered.
Among those present were Aliema Khan along with other family members, while PTI leaders including Salman Akram Raja, Shahid Khattak, Naeem Haider Panjutha, and Niazullah Niazi were also seen at the site. A large police presence was deployed across different points of Adiala Road to maintain law and order.
Speaking to the media, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi criticized the situation, saying that Pakistan was facing numerous serious issues, yet focus was being placed on restricting meetings between the PTI founder and his sisters and allegedly blocking his medical care.
He stated that the country’s economy was in crisis, youth were leaving the country, and institutions appeared indifferent to public concerns. He further said that when courts become ineffective, people are left with no option but to protest to seek justice.
