Senior Politician Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Khan Raisani Sets Conditions for Support to Pakistan Constitution Protection Movement

Quetta:Senior politician and former Senator Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Khan Raisani has extended his support to the Pakistan Constitution Protection Movement (PCPM) under specific conditions. He emphasized that when the parties involved in the movement come to power, a formal and active commission will be established for the recovery of missing persons. Additionally, he called for an end to the interference of institutions in the political process of the province.

Raisani also highlighted several other demands, including a commitment to end “minus Balochistan” politics and to cancel the allocation of provincial resources to favorites through the illegitimate provincial assembly. He stated that Balochistan’s coastal area, which accounts for 60% of the country, should be recognized as Pakistan’s 60%, and the 1948 agreement between Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the Khan of Kalat should be incorporated into the constitution.

In a joint press conference at Sarwan House, attended by PCPM leaders including Sardar Latif Khosa, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, and others, Raisani also demanded the release of political activists, including women detainees, and the withdrawal of cases against them. He further stated that the political process in Balochistan should be free from external interference and that the issue of missing persons should be addressed by forming a dedicated commission.

Sahibzada Hamid Raza, speaking to the press, reiterated the movement’s commitment to ensuring that the voices from Balochistan, despite their grievances, are integrated into the political dialogue of the country. He expressed hopes that Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani would lend his full support to these efforts.

The leaders of the Pakistan Constitution Protection Movement also discussed the long-standing issues of deprivation and exploitation faced by Balochistan, and the need for a political solution that involves all stakeholders, including the people of Balochistan. They stressed that only by respecting the rights of Balochistan’s people can the region move forward in a peaceful and prosperous manner.

In conclusion, Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Khan Raisani assured the movement’s leaders that he would continue to work for the restoration of rights and dignity of the people of Balochistan, while maintaining that the province’s legitimate resources and concerns must be fully recognized and addressed by the federal government.
