Pakistan Expected to Host Second Round of US-Iran Talks Next Week

Pakistan is expected to host the second round of peace talks between the United States and Iran next week amid efforts to revive negotiations and ease regional tensions.

Reports suggest that an initial agreement between Washington and Tehran could be reached before Donald Trump visits China on May 14-15. Sources say nearly 85 percent of disputed issues have reportedly been resolved, although the nuclear issue remains the biggest obstacle.

According to a Turkish news agency, discussions aimed at ending the ongoing conflict between the two countries are expected to resume soon, raising hopes for diplomatic progress ahead of Trump’s China visit.

Sources further said that Islamabad is optimistic that both sides will restart stalled negotiations in light of recent developments. Pakistan is hoping to play a key mediating role in facilitating dialogue between the two countries.
