Efforts for PTI Founder’s Release Have Slowed Down, Says Ali Amin Gandapur

Peshawar: Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has said that efforts to secure the release of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have lost momentum, expressing concern over the ongoing legal and political situation surrounding the party leader.

Speaking to the media, Gandapur claimed that the cases filed against the PTI founder were fabricated and politically motivated. He also alleged that the party founder’s family members and legal representatives were not being allowed to meet him.

“The cases against the PTI founder are false, and even his family and lawyers are being denied access to him,” Gandapur said.

Commenting on internal party matters, the former chief minister stated that lawmakers who have expressed reservations are neither opposed to the chief minister nor to the provincial budget. He dismissed speculation of a major divide within the party ranks.

Gandapur also responded to criticism regarding his meetings with the PTI founder, saying that propaganda had been spread suggesting that he did not visit him.

“There was a perception that I was not meeting the PTI founder, but that is not true. I did meet him, although the meetings were not frequent,” he said.

The former chief minister reiterated his support for the PTI founder and emphasized the need for what he described as a fair legal process in dealing with the cases against the party leadership.
