Ahsan Iqbal Says Oil Could Have Surged to $250 Without US-Iran Ceasefire Efforts

Ahsan Iqbal has said that global oil prices could have exceeded $250 per barrel if a ceasefire had not been achieved between the United States and Iran.

Speaking at a corner meeting in Shakargarh, Iqbal credited Shehbaz Sharif and Asim Munir for playing a role in facilitating the ceasefire, claiming their efforts helped prevent a major global oil crisis.

He stated that tensions between the U.S. and Iran had created significant disruption in global energy markets, pushing oil prices upward. However, he expressed hope that the situation would stabilize further, leading to a reduction in oil prices.

Iqbal added that continued diplomatic efforts are aimed at ensuring a complete end to the conflict so that global energy markets can return to normal.
