Allegations of Secret Appointments Surface at Gwadar Vocational Centers

Gwadar: Serious allegations of irregular and “secret” appointments have emerged at vocational training institutions in Gwadar, prompting strong criticism from local leadership.
Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman Baloch, leader of the Haq Do Tehreek Balochistan and Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Gwadar, raised concerns during a visit to the Vocational Training Center (VTC) Gwadar and the Women Vocational Training Center.
During his visit, he met separately with VTC Principal Abdul Samad Shahi and Women VTC Principal Noor Saba to inquire about recent recruitments. According to findings shared during the visit, a total of 14 individuals—12 at VTC and 2 at the women’s center—were allegedly appointed within the past month to positions ranging from Grade 1 to 14 without the knowledge of the respective principals.
It was further revealed that the newly appointed individuals reportedly completed their joining formalities in Quetta instead of Gwadar and submitted their documents to the treasury office without physically reporting to their assigned workplaces.
Expressing strong anger over the matter, Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman Baloch stated that such “covert appointments” by the Secretary of Labour and Manpower would not be accepted under any circumstances. He announced plans to immediately take up the issue with the relevant minister and secretary.
He also emphasized that any attempt to deprive local youth of employment opportunities would be resisted and vowed to raise the issue in the provincial assembly. “Gwadar has highly capable youth for these positions, but once again their rights are being undermined,” he said, adding that merit and local employment rights would be defended at all levels.
