Tribal Jirga a Historic Step Toward Lasting Peace and Development in Balochistan: Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani

Quetta:Balochistan’s Provincial Finance Minister **Mir Shoaib Nosherwani** has termed the recent **Tribal Jirga** as a “positive, promising, and historic initiative” for the establishment of **lasting peace and development** in the province.
He praised the participation of **Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif** and **Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal General Asim Munir** in the jirga, calling it a powerful gesture of **respect for tribal traditions** and a clear indication of the **federal government’s and state institutions’ seriousness and commitment** to resolving Balochistan’s longstanding issues.
“The tribal jirga will not only foster **mutual understanding** but also help **restore public trust** and serve as a **milestone on the road to sustainable peace**,” Nosherwani said.
He emphasized that the **tribes of Balochistan have always played a vital role** in the defense, peace, and stability of Pakistan. “The jirga sent a unified message that all stakeholders want to resolve conflicts through dialogue and cooperation,” he added.
Calling the event a symbol of **unity and mutual trust**, the Finance Minister expressed optimism that it would lay the foundation for a **peaceful and prosperous society** in the province.
Nosherwani also welcomed the **Prime Minister’s announcement of financial support** and **additional resources for improving law and order** in Balochistan. “The people of the province warmly appreciate this commitment,” he said.
He reaffirmed the **provincial government’s dedication** to improving the economy, health, education, and security, adding that **peace and stability remain top priorities**.
“It is time we come together and work collectively to **turn the vision of a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Balochistan into a reality**—for ourselves and for the generations to come,” Nosherwani concluded.
