Imran Khan’s Health and Solitary Confinement Situation Highly Concerning, Says Advocate Salman Safdar

Lahore (News Desk) — Advocate Salman Safdar, counsel for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has expressed serious concern over his client’s health and alleged solitary confinement conditions.
Speaking at the Lahore High Court Bar, Salman Safdar said he has been representing Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi for the past four years, but has only been able to meet them once this year.
He claimed that Imran Khan’s eye condition has not improved and that he is being kept in solitary confinement for nearly 22 hours a day, which he described as mental torture.
According to him, the former prime minister is deprived of basic facilities such as television, books, and meaningful interaction, while access to lawyers has also been severely restricted.
Safdar further stated that during meetings, Imran Khan repeatedly described solitary confinement as a form of punishment not backed by any court order.
He also highlighted that Bushra Bibi has been sentenced to seven years in prison, yet her case has not been scheduled for hearing.
The lawyer termed the situation of both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi as highly serious and urged immediate judicial attention to the matter.
