Pakistan Launches New Land Trade Route to Central Asia via Iran

Gwadar:** Pakistan has successfully dispatched its first export consignment to Tashkent through a newly established land trade route via Iran, according to a statement issued by customs authorities.
The inaugural shipment, consisting of frozen meat, departed from Karachi and will enter Iran through the Rimdan border before reaching Central Asian states.
Officials confirmed that the cargo has already reached the Iranian region of Rimdan and will continue onward to its final destination in Central Asia.
A spokesperson stated that this development marks the establishment of a new overland trade corridor connecting Pakistan to Central Asian countries through Iran. The route has been set up under the TIR (Transports Internationaux Routiers) system, which facilitates international transit of goods.
The new Pakistan-Iran transit corridor is expected to provide an efficient and alternative route for exports, reducing transit time and boosting trade activities. Authorities believe the initiative will open new opportunities for the country’s industry and commerce sectors while enhancing regional connectivity.
