SIndh CM Clarifies: Only One Rs2,000 Fuel Subsidy Per CNIC, Regardless of Number of Motorcycles

Karachi – Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has clarified that under the newly announced monthly Rs2,000 fuel subsidy for motorcyclists, only one subsidy will be provided per Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), even if multiple motorcycles are registered under the same CNIC.
Speaking at a press conference, CM Shah stated that the subsidy will be directly credited to the bank account of the individual in whose name the motorcycle is registered. Citizens who recently purchased motorcycles are advised to transfer ownership to their names immediately. To facilitate this, transfer fees have been waived.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the subsidy will only be released if both the motorcycle registration and the bank account are under the same CNIC. Accounts under a different name will not be eligible. Sindh Bank account holders will receive the funds within 24 hours, while users of other banks can expect the amount within three days. The subsidy for April will be disbursed within the same month.
In addition, CM Shah announced extended working hours for transfer offices from 8:00 AM to midnight, with weekend operations on Saturday and Sunday to accommodate heavy public traffic.
He also assured that the Transport Association has guaranteed that fares will not increase, warning of strict legal action against any unauthorized hikes. Meetings with the business community regarding potential market closures are ongoing to ensure consultation and coordination
