Pakistan Decides to Pay UAE $2 Billion After Securing Alternative Funding Sources

Islamabad: According to government sources, Pakistan has decided to pay $2 billion to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after arranging alternative sources of funding.
Officials stated that Pakistan is required to make total payments of $4.8 billion by June, and arrangements for these payments have already been secured. Sources confirmed that Pakistan has also received assurances from two friendly countries for more than $5 billion in financial support.
The government revealed that Pakistan’s total payments to the UAE amount to $3.5 billion across three different platforms. Additionally, a 10-year Eurobond has matured, with a repayment of $1.3 billion scheduled for this week.
These measures reflect Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to manage its external financial obligations amid economic pressures.
