Trump Praises Pakistan’s Leadership, Calls Asim Munir and Shehbaz Sharif “Great Leaders”

Washington: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has once again praised Pakistan’s leadership, saying that Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif are “great leaders” and maintain excellent relations with each other.
According to details, while speaking in an interview with the U.S. news website Axios, Trump commented on Pakistan’s civil-military relations and described them as a positive example for the world.
Trump said that Pakistan played an important role in preventing a potential conflict between the United States and Iran and in facilitating a peace understanding. He praised Field Marshal Asim Munir, calling him “great,” and also lauded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, stating that both leaders share a strong and positive working relationship.
He further remarked that it is “beautiful to see” a military leader fully respecting the country’s prime minister, adding that Pakistan’s leadership helped the United States in reaching an understanding with Iran. He claimed that Pakistani officials have strong understanding and communication with Iranian counterparts, which contributed to diplomatic efforts.
Trump also stated that Pakistan, being a close partner of the United States, urged restraint regarding further military escalation against Iran, which eventually led to a shift toward negotiations and peace talks.
