PIA Passenger Plane Narrowly Avoids Major Accident After Mid-Air Technical Failure

Karachi: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) passenger aircraft operating from Multan to Riyadh narrowly escaped a major accident after developing a serious technical fault mid-air.

According to media reports, flight PK-765 en route to Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh faced an unexpected technical crisis during flight operations. The aircraft reportedly developed a sudden malfunction in its critical hydraulic system while in the air.

Upon detecting the issue, the captain immediately contacted Karachi Air Traffic Control (ATC) and requested emergency landing clearance. Thanks to the swift response of ATC and the pilot’s timely action, the aircraft was safely diverted and landed at Karachi Airport at around 9:30 am.

Airline officials confirmed that more than 160 passengers were on board, all of whom remained safe. After landing, passengers were promptly moved to a comfortable transit lounge where they were provided care and assistance.

Following the emergency landing, PIA engineering teams inspected the aircraft and worked to resolve the hydraulic system fault. After a complete technical check and successful repairs, the aircraft was cleared for flight operations.

The passengers were later re-boarded, and the aircraft safely departed from Karachi to Riyadh after clearance.
