Punjab’s Cancer Care Gets Boost as NSICTR Nears Completion

Significant progress has been made in cancer care in Punjab, with the construction of the Cancer Treatment & Research”,”cancer hospital and research institute”] (NSICTR) accelerating under the direction of Maryam Nawaz. The project is now nearing completion.
The Chief Minister conducted a digital tour of the hospital’s various departments, expressing satisfaction with the construction progress. She instructed that all construction work be carried out in three shifts to ensure timely completion, with strict supervision over every brick, block, and machine.
During her inspection, Maryam Nawaz reviewed the main entrance hall, radiology, mammography suite, CT scan room, radiation therapy, treatment planning room, simulator, seminar area, and state-of-the-art seating and AHU rooms for patients.
Officials reported that recruitment for 219 positions at the institute has begun, with 32 candidates already selected. Approval for an additional 415 positions has been granted, and advertisements for these will be released next week. The Chief Minister also directed that highly qualified professionals be appointed to key positions, including the hospital’s dean and director.
With construction continuing in three shifts, officials say the project is rapidly approaching completion, promising advanced facilities for cancer patients in the near future.
