Live TV Slip Sparks as Karachi Mayor Allegedly Hears Producer’s Off-Air Remark
Lahore (Qudrat Daily) – A video clip from a private news channel has gone viral after Murtaza Wahab, the Mayor of Karachi, appeared to overhear an off-air remark during a live television broadcast.
The incident occurred while Wahab was discussing the aftermath of heavy rainfall in the city. During the live conversation, his audio was suddenly muted. When the sound returned, he remarked, “I could hear someone saying ‘deal with him harshly,’” before the call was abruptly disconnected moments later.
Neither the television channel nor Wahab has issued any clarification regarding what actually transpired during the muted segment.
The clip has since been widely circulated on X, drawing mixed reactions from users.
The incident comes as Karachi continues to deal with the impact of torrential rains that hit the city on Thursday. Large areas experienced flooding and prolonged power outages, resulting in at least five deaths, including four caused by electrocution.
