Pakistan Recommends Donald Trump for 2026 Nobel Peace Prize Over Role in Preventing India-Pakistan War

Islamabad:The government of Pakistan has decided to officially recommend **U.S. President Donald Trump** for the **2026 Nobel Peace Prize**, citing his decisive role in preventing a potential war between **Pakistan and India** earlier this year.

Pakistan’s government emphasized that **Trump’s diplomatic intervention** played a critical role in de-escalating the tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, particularly during the recent crisis between **Pakistan and India**. The recommendation for the **Nobel Peace Prize** was made in light of President Trump’s efforts to ease the **Pak-India conflict**.

In a statement, the Pakistani government acknowledged the **unprovoked and illegal aggression by India**, which violated Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. It noted that the **Indian aggression** led to the loss of **innocent lives**, including those of **women and children**. Pakistan exercised its **right to self-defense** by initiating **Operation Baniyan Marsous**, a military response aimed at restoring the balance of power and defending regional integrity.

The Pakistani government commended President Trump for his **far-sighted leadership** and efforts in establishing diplomatic contact with both **Islamabad** and **New Delhi** during the crisis. It further highlighted Trump’s **sincere offer to help resolve the Kashmir issue** and his role in controlling the rapidly deteriorating situation between the two countries.

Regarding the Kashmir issue, Pakistan reiterated that it remains at the heart of **regional instability** and that lasting peace in **South Asia** is not possible until the **United Nations Security Council** resolutions on Kashmir are implemented.

The Pakistani government also expressed hope that President Trump would continue his **efforts for regional and global stability**, especially in light of the ongoing crises in the **Middle East**, including the **humanitarian disaster in Gaza** and growing tensions in **Iran**.

It is worth noting that, earlier in May, President **Trump** took to **his social media platform, Truth Social**, to announce that **Pakistan and India** had agreed to a **ceasefire**, claiming credit for the peace agreement. In a recent media interaction, Trump remarked that he should be awarded the **Nobel Peace Prize** for his role in ending the conflict, although he humorously noted that the prize is typically reserved for **liberals** and that he doubts he will be the recipient.

This diplomatic development underscores the continuing global focus on **Kashmir** and the complex relationship between **Pakistan and India**.
