Authorities Arrest Gang Behind Islamabad Businessman Aamir Awan’s Murder

Islamabad: Federal Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry announced that the notorious Mansoor Khan gang was involved in the killing of businessman and community leader Aamir Awan during a robbery in Islamabad. Afghan nationals were also reportedly implicated in the crime.

Speaking at a press conference, Talal Chaudhry stated that the gang, popularly known as the “Bulletproof Jacket Gang,” was responsible for the murder, validating the security concerns of local business leaders. He confirmed that the suspects were apprehended within 24 hours and emphasized that law and order in Islamabad has significantly improved.


Chaudhry further revealed that the gang originates from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and even local police had previously been intimidated by them. He added that the federal government has made key decisions regarding Islamabad, aiming to make the capital Pakistan’s first “smart city.”


Inspector General of Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi stated that 17 investigation teams were deployed and modern technology was instrumental in tracking the suspects. The gang leader was arrested in Charsadda, with further investigations ongoing.

Police sources noted that the arrested suspects are aged between 20 and 21, weapons were recovered from their possession, and some had recently been released from prison. The incident occurred in the Margalla Town area under the jurisdiction of Shahzad Town police station, marking a significant breakthrough in the high-profile murder case.
