RCB Drops Yash Dayal from IPL 2026 Squad Amid Serious Legal Allegations

Mumbai: An Indian Premier League franchise has removed Indian cricketer Yash Dayal from its squad ahead of the 2026 season following serious legal allegations against him.
According to Indian media reports, Royal Challengers Bangalore Director of Cricket Mo Bobat confirmed that Dayal will not be available for the entire season due to personal issues.
Speaking at a press conference, Bobat said that after discussions with the player, it was mutually decided that he should not be part of the squad under the current circumstances. He, however, declined to disclose further details.
The development comes as a setback for RCB, especially after Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood suffered an injury, further weakening the team’s pace attack.
Reports indicate that Dayal has not played any matches since the IPL final in June 2025 and is currently facing two separate criminal cases involving serious allegations.
The first case was registered in Ghaziabad in July 2025, where a woman accused him of physical and mental exploitation under the pretext of marriage during a long-term relationship.
A second case was later filed in Jaipur, in which a minor alleged repeated sexual assault from 2023 onwards, including an incident during the 2025 IPL season.
The situation remains under legal proceedings, and no final verdict has yet been issued.
