PCB Releases Saim Ayub from Pakistan Squad, Calls Up Sahibzada Farhan

LAHORE:The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released opening batter Saim Ayub from the national squad at his request and called up Sahibzada Farhan as his replacement.
According to the PCB, Saim requested permission to leave the squad to focus on improving his batting through domestic cricket. The Pakistan team management and selection committee jointly approved his request.
The board said Saim’s decision was appreciated in view of his current form.
Following his release, Sahibzada Farhan has been added to the squad and is expected to join the team soon.
Sources said Farhan is currently in Kathmandu, where he is participating in the Nepal Premier League. He has been called up for national duty and is expected to return to Pakistan on the first available flight.
Pakistan, meanwhile, have qualified for the final of the tri-nation series after registering three consecutive victories.
The national team is scheduled to face Sri Lanka in the fifth match of the tournament at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday, October 27.
Farhan’s inclusion comes as Pakistan prepare for the upcoming fixture, while Saim will focus on refining his batting in domestic cricket.
