Suspect Killed in Police Encounter After Rs190 Million Robbery in Lahore, Three Accomplices Escape

Lahore: A suspected robber involved in a massive Rs190 million robbery was killed during an alleged police encounter in the Gajumata area of Lahore, while three of his accomplices managed to escape, police said.
According to police, the deceased suspect was identified as Zazai Pathan, who was allegedly involved in the major robbery that took place a day earlier in the Defence area of the city.
Police said officers signaled a suspicious vehicle to stop, but the suspects inside the car opened fire. In the ensuing exchange of gunfire, one suspect was killed while three others fled the scene. The police also took the suspects’ vehicle into custody.
Authorities stated that the suspects had fled after committing the robbery at a café. Using Safe City surveillance cameras, police traced the vehicle’s number plate, which led Kahna police to attempt to intercept the car near Gajumata.
During the operation, SHO Kahna Amir Shehzad and other police personnel exchanged fire with the suspects.
After receiving information about the incident, a heavy police contingent reached the scene. Lahore CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana and DIG Operations Lahore Mohammad Faisal Kamran also arrived at the location.
Police said the body of the deceased suspect has been shifted to the morgue, while a search operation is underway in the area to arrest the remaining suspects. Authorities expressed confidence that the fugitives will soon be apprehended.
