U.S. Spends Nearly $6 Billion in First Week of Iran Conflict, Pentagon Says

Washington: The Pentagon has revealed that the United States has spent nearly $6 billion during the first week of its military operations against Iran. Officials said the war effort is currently costing about $891 million per day.

According to international media reports, defense experts have warned that the overall cost of the conflict could rise to several more billions of dollars if the war continues.

During a briefing to the United States Congress, defense officials stated that around $4 billion of the total spending has been allocated to weapons and advanced missile defense systems, including interceptors designed to destroy Iranian missiles in mid-air.

Officials added that additional funding will likely be required to sustain ongoing military operations and replenish depleted weapons stockpiles. A request for extra budget allocations is expected in the coming weeks.

Reports indicate that the U.S. has so far targeted around 4,000 military sites in Iran, including missile launchers, naval vessels, and air defense systems.

According to Brad Cooper, head of United States Central Command, the number of ballistic missiles launched by Iran has dropped by 90 percent since the start of the conflict, while drone attacks have decreased by 83 percent.

However, officials noted that Iran still retains about 50 percent of its missile program capabilities, indicating that the conflict could continue for some time.
