Balochistan Assembly Summons Sui Gas Officials Over Ramadan Loadshedding, Members Voice Serious Security Concerns

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) – The Balochistan Assembly session was held under the chairmanship of Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, where detailed discussions took place on gas loadshedding during Ramadan, prolonged border closures, and the rising incidents of kidnapping for ransom.

During the session, draft legislation related to the Civil Procedure Code and B-TEVTA was referred to the relevant standing committees for further review.

Lawmakers, including MPA Abdul Majeed Badini, strongly protested the unavailability of gas during Sehri and Iftar hours in areas including Jaffarabad. In response, the Speaker assured the house that officials from Sui Southern Gas Company would be summoned to explain the situation.

On the law and order situation, MPA Rahmat Saleh Baloch expressed grave concern over the increasing cases of kidnapping for ransom in Panjgur and Turbat, stating that the crime had now taken the shape of an organized business.

Members also urged the government to take immediate measures regarding the prolonged border closure and to ensure the safety and security of citizens. The Speaker later adjourned the session until February 25.
