No One Has the Right to Take Up Arms and Spread Violence, Says Balochistan CM Sarfraz Bugti

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has said that no one has the right to take up arms and unleash violence, emphasizing that terrorism cannot be justified under any circumstances.

Addressing the provincial assembly, Bugti stated that an organized propaganda campaign has been carried out against the state for the past 30 years. He questioned how terrorism could be linked to deprivation, rejecting the narrative that violence stems from economic or social grievances.

He said that terrorists are attempting to create a so-called “Baloch narrative” to divide the country. Referring to extremist elements as “Khawarij,” he added that such groups have no connection to religion and merely exploit its name for their own agendas.

The chief minister reiterated that no individual or group has the right to pick up a gun and engage in bloodshed. He stressed that uneven development cannot be used as a justification for terrorism.

Bugti further urged those involved in unrest to abandon chaos and come forward for dialogue on various issues. He said the state is ready for negotiations but will not allow talks to take place at gunpoint or under the threat of violence.
