Punjab Govt Announces Ramadan Relief Festival to Provide Affordable, Quality Food Items

**Lahore:** Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the provision of affordable and quality food items to the public ahead of Ramadan.
The Punjab government will organize a “Ramadan Sasta (Relief) Festival” from February 13 to February 15 at Jillani Park in Lahore. The initiative aims to provide essential food items at reduced prices before the start of the holy month.
All relevant departments, including Food Safety and Consumer Protection authorities, will participate in the festival to ensure strict monitoring of both quality and pricing of products.
Secretary Food Safety Salma Butt said that ensuring the availability of affordable and quality goods before Ramadan would provide relief to people from all walks of life. She stated that essential commodities would be available at discounts of 20 percent or more during the festival.
Director General of the Punjab Food Authority, Asim Javed, said that food authority teams would continuously monitor the quality of food items. He added that all stalls would be inspected to review product supply and pricing to ensure consumers receive the best quality at reasonable rates.
