Field Marshal Asim Munir Meets Libyan Counterpart Khalifa Abu Qasim Haftar at GHQ

Rawalpindi: Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Abu Qasim Haftar, along with Libyan Prime Minister Dr. Osama Saad Hammad, met Field Marshal and Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan, Syed Asim Munir, at the General Headquarters (GHQ).

According to ISPR, the meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on the regional security environment and professional military cooperation. Both sides underscored the importance of continued engagement and collaboration between the Pakistan Army and Libyan armed forces.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir warmly welcomed the guests and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Libya. He also reiterated Pakistan’s support for peace, stability, and institutional development in Libya.

The meeting was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, reflecting the long-standing cordial relations between Pakistan and Libya.

Earlier, upon arrival at Nur Khan Air Base, Field Marshal Khalifa Abu Qasim Haftar was received by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. During the visit, the Libyan commander paid tribute to the martyrs and laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument at GHQ.
