Quetta Master Plan to Be Finalized Soon, Strict Enforcement of Building Codes Directed

**Quetta:** An important meeting of the Urban Planning and Designing Committee was held under the chairmanship of Quetta Division Commissioner Shahzaib Khan Kakar, focusing on the early completion of the Quetta Master Plan and strict implementation of building codes.

The meeting was attended by Administrator Metropolitan Corporation Quetta Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Qambrani, SSP Traffic Quetta Mirza Bilal Hassan, Deputy Project Director QDP Abid Mahmood, Director QDA Asif Ali, DSP Traffic Saifullah Durrani, SP City Quetta Nauman Zafar, Chief Architect Abdul Aziz Zehri, along with officers from QDA, BPA, and other relevant departments.

During the meeting, participants reviewed in detail various measures related to the preparation and implementation of the Quetta Master Plan. Key issues discussed included enforcement of building codes, drainage systems, parking problems, and ongoing as well as proposed urban development projects.

Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Shahzaib Khan Kakar emphasized that the Quetta Master Plan should be finalized at the earliest and implemented effectively to curb haphazard urban expansion and ensure the provision of basic civic facilities to citizens. He stressed that strict compliance with approved building codes is essential for sustainable urban development, improved traffic flow, and better living standards in the provincial capital.

The Commissioner directed all concerned departments to coordinate closely and expedite their work to ensure planned development, improved infrastructure, and long-term solutions to Quetta’s growing urban challenges.
