Balochistan Union of Journalists Elections 2026–27: Journalists Panel Secures Historic Victory, Manzoor Ahmed Elected President

**Quetta:** The Journalists Panel achieved a landslide victory in the Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) annual elections for 2026–27, sweeping all major positions with decisive margins.
Senior ARY News reporter Manzoor Ahmed was elected President after securing 87 votes, defeating Geo News’ Salman Ashraf, who received 23 votes. Fareedullah of Yek News was elected Senior Vice President with 77 votes, while his opponent Saadia Jahangir obtained 31 votes.
Shah Hussain Tareen of 92 News was elected General Secretary with 79 votes, defeating Fateh Bugti, who secured 29 votes. Zafar Baloch of Samaa TV was elected Vice President with 83 votes, while his rival Yakmi Rajer received 22 votes.
Ismat Samalani was elected Finance Secretary with 83 votes, Kifayat Ali secured the position of Senior Joint Secretary with 85 votes, and Adnan Saeed was elected Joint Secretary with 79 votes.
For the Executive Council (Majlis-e-Aamila), Raza Rehman, Saleem Shahid, Khalil Ahmed, Shehzada Zulfiqar, Arshad Butt, Murtaza Zehri, Muhammad Aamir, and Mohibullah were elected members with large majorities.
Out of a total of 134 registered voters, 113 cast their votes in the election process, reflecting strong participation from the journalistic community.
The overwhelming mandate for the Journalists Panel has been described as a historic moment for the Balochistan Union of Journalists, highlighting unity and confidence in the newly elected leadership.
