HDP Condemns Raids on Grand Alliance Leaders’ Homes, Demands Acceptance of Employees’ Demands

*Quetta:* The Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) has strongly condemned the raids on the homes of leaders of the employees’ alliance, Grand Alliance, and the arrests carried out in connection with their protest movement. In a central statement, the party termed the actions a violation of the sanctity of homes and an example of authoritarian behavior by what it described as a “fake and imposed” provincial government.
The HDP said the provincial government lacks sincerity in addressing employees’ issues or engaging in meaningful negotiations. It alleged that while the government considers it acceptable to waste billions of rupees on flawed projects and unnecessary matters, it is unwilling to allocate even a few crores of rupees to resolve the problems of poor and salaried employees. According to the statement, the government is resorting to unjust and anti-employee measures in an attempt to sabotage the ongoing strike.
The party maintained that employees’ protests and strikes for the Disparity Reduction Allowance (DRA) are legitimate and lawful, whereas the use of force and misuse of law against them reflects an authoritarian mindset. The HDP further stated that despite lacking real authority, the imposed provincial government is abusing its powers and adopting a repressive attitude toward employees.
Warning that political power and offices are temporary, the party urged the government to make prudent decisions in the interest of its own future and to win the confidence of employees by addressing their genuine concerns. The Hazara Democratic Party demanded an immediate halt to raids on the homes of Grand Alliance leaders and called on the government to accept their demands without delay in order to ease unrest among employees.
