Punjab Government to Distribute Rs100,000 to 42 Lakh Families Under Ramadan Nigehban Package

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the Ramadan Nigehban Package, under which 42 lakh families in the province will receive Rs10,000 each.

Under the package, the provincial government will provide underprivileged families with Nigehban cards to facilitate relief during Ramadan. The decision was approved by CM Maryam Nawaz during a meeting focused on public welfare initiatives.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also approved other measures, including the CM Ration Card, Nigehban Dastarkhwan, and Sahulat Bazaars. District administrations will distribute the Nigehban cards door-to-door.

The Punjab government has set up 136 activation centers for the cards, which can also be activated at Punjab Bank ATMs. A dedicated Ramadan Nigehban dashboard has been launched, and a system for counter-checking via calls to cardholders has been established. CM Maryam Nawaz directed that payments to the public through Nigehban cards be made as easy and efficient as possible.

Additionally, the Chief Minister approved the establishment of eight Nigehban Dastarkhwans titled “Maryam ke Mehmaan” in each tehsil of Punjab. Each tehsil will provide Iftar for 2,000 fasting individuals daily throughout Ramadan.
