Government Raises Kerosene Price by Rs39.20 per Litre, Maintains Petrol and Diesel Rates

**Islamabad:** The **Government of Pakistan** has increased the price of **Kerosene Oil** by **Rs39.20 per litre**, setting the new price at **Rs358.01 per litre**.
According to the **Ministry of Energy Pakistan**, the government has decided to maintain existing prices of **Petrol** and **Diesel**, while continuing the **Petroleum Levy** on both fuels.
The levy will remain at **Rs105.37 per litre on petrol** and **Rs55.24 per litre on diesel**, officials said.
The ministry stated that by keeping petrol and diesel prices unchanged, the government will provide a **subsidy of Rs23 billion** for the period from **March 14 to March 20**. Under this subsidy, **Rs49.63 per litre** will be paid on petrol and **Rs75 per litre** on diesel.
Officials added that the subsidy amount will be paid to oil marketing companies under **Price Differential Claims (PDCs)** through the **Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority**.
The ministry further announced that the federal cabinet has approved the establishment of the **Prime Minister’s Austerity Fund**, and the cabinet’s **Economic Coordination Committee** has authorized the transfer of **Rs27.10 billion** into the fund.
Authorities said the payment mechanism for price differential claims will include verification and audit of bills submitted by oil marketing companies.
