FIA Files Case Against 4 Officers for Bribery, Abduction, and Abuse of Power; 2 Arrested

Lahore: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Gujranwala has registered a case against eight individuals, including four officers of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), on charges of bribery, abduction, and abuse of authority.

The FIA named NCCIA sub-inspectors Amir Hamza, Mujahid Ali, ASI Shehroz, and officer Allah Yar in the case. Private frontmen Haji Waqar, Asim Mehmood, Usman Ali, and Noman Ali were also implicated.

During a raid, the FIA arrested ASI Shehroz and staff officer Allah Yar. According to an FIA spokesperson, the case was filed on the complaint of citizen Muzafar Iqbal.

The complainant alleged that the officers had illegally abducted his four sons, who were involved in online trading, accusing them of running a cryptocurrency business. The officers reportedly demanded a bribe of PKR 50 million for their release, eventually accepting PKR 3 million before releasing the children.

Following investigations, the FIA registered the case against all eight suspects, arresting two so far, while operations to apprehend the remaining suspects are ongoing.
