Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan (Balochistan) Finalizes Strategy for Feb 8 Wheel-Jam and Shutter-Down Strike, Demands Imran Khan’s Release

**Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta):**
A meeting of **Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan (TTAP)** was held at the central secretariat of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) in Quetta under the chairmanship of PMAP Central General Secretary **Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal**, to finalize the strategy for the **wheel-jam and shutter-down strike scheduled for February 8**.

The meeting reviewed preparations and adopted key decisions to ensure the success of the strike. It was decided that **joint district-level meetings** of political parties included in TTAP—**Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Balochistan National Party, and Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen**—will be held across all districts of Balochistan on **January 18 (Sunday)**.

Participants emphasized taking practical steps across the province to implement decisions related to the **February 8, 2026 wheel-jam and shutter-down strike**. A committee was formed to establish contacts with various organizations and stakeholders in Quetta and other districts, including **transporters, farmers, teachers, lawyers, doctors, rickshaw unions, traders**, and representatives of different walks of life.

The meeting also decided to hold a **joint press conference on January 17 at 3:00 pm in Quetta**, led by the political parties participating in TTAP.

The participants stated that the **February 8, 2026 historic shutter-down and wheel-jam strike** is being organized in protest against what they termed the **allegedly rigged, fraudulent elections of February 8, 2024**, and the governments imposed thereafter. They said the movement aims to restore the **supremacy of the Constitution**, ensure the **sovereignty of a genuinely elected parliament**, strengthen **democratic governance**, and safeguard the **freedom of the judiciary and media**. The meeting also reiterated the demand for the **release of PTI founder Imran Khan**.

The statement further criticized constitutional amendments—particularly the **26th and 27th Amendments**—and alleged violations of the Constitution through the **SIFC under the Investment Act**, encroachments on **provincial autonomy**, and infringements on **fundamental human rights**. The meeting stressed that all member parties and democratic forces must play an active role to ensure the success of the February 8 strike.

The meeting was attended by PMAP leaders **Dr. Hamid Khan Achakzai, Majid Khan Achakzai, Kabir Afghan, Haji Soorat Khan Kakar, Malik Umar Kakar, and Gul Khilji**; PTI Balochistan President **Daud Shah Kakar**, **Abdul Hai Agha**, and **Sardar Zain-ul-Abidin Khilji**; BNP leaders **Wahid Baloch** and **Ghulam Nabi Marri**; and MWM leaders **Allama Wilayat Hussain** and **Muhammad Younis**, among others.
