Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Receives Global Recognition with Airport Council International Membership

Islamabad: The Civil Aviation Training Institute (CATI), a key subsidiary of the Pakistan Airports Authority, has been granted membership in the Airports Council International (ACI), a global organization of airports. This membership marks a significant milestone for Pakistan’s aviation sector.

Officials from international civil aviation bodies frequently visit the institute to conduct courses. CATI offers 208 internationally accredited aviation training programs and has trained aviation professionals from over 48 countries to date.

All officers and staff joining the Pakistan Airports Authority or Civil Aviation Authority are required to complete mandatory aviation training courses at CATI.

Airports Council International represents 170 member countries worldwide, and Pakistan’s inclusion reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to elevate the country’s aviation sector to international standards. The Ministry of Defence has been tasked with overseeing the implementation of these initiatives, and CATI’s ACI membership is a continuation of these efforts to modernize and professionalize Pakistan’s civil aviation infrastructure.
