Controversial Statement by Dr. Nabiha Ali Sparks Outrage Over Domestic Violence Comments

Karachi: Dr. Nabiha Ali Khan, a psychologist known for her controversial opinions and outspoken support of traditional male roles, is once again under fire on social media. Frequently seen on morning shows discussing marriage, relationships, and mental health, Dr. Nabiha recently appeared as a guest on the program *”Qutub Online”*, where her remarks about domestic violence triggered widespread backlash.
Speaking on the issue of domestic disputes, Dr. Nabiha stated, *“Men never compromise on their ego or salary. If a woman interferes in either, he takes offense. Whether a man is wrong or strict, he only raises his hand when the argument crosses a limit. If a woman uses harsh words, a man naturally responds with harshness, and ultimately ends up slapping her. Often, wives provoke their husbands to the point of violence.”*
Her comments come at a time when several high-profile domestic abuse cases, including those involving public figures like Ayesha Jahanzeb and Jasmine Manzoor, have recently come to light.
The statement instantly ignited outrage online. One user wrote, *“She seems to consider violence a normal part of life—perhaps she has been a victim herself or lives in a world detached from reality.”* Another commented, *“As a survivor of domestic violence, I find her words disgusting.”* A third user questioned, *“Imagine women like her raising the next generation of men—what will become of society?”*
The backlash has reignited a broader conversation: can even mental health professionals be imprisoned by regressive societal norms? The internet remains abuzz as critics demand accountability and emphasize the need for responsible discourse on sensitive issues like domestic abuse.
