Bhutto Was Not Just a Personality but an Ideology and a Symbol of People’s Sovereignty: Mir Ali Hassan Zehri

**Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta):** Senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), spokesperson to President Asif Ali Zardari for Balochistan, Provincial Senior Vice President of PPP and Provincial Minister for Agriculture, Mir Ali Hassan Zehri, paid rich tribute to the founding chairman of PPP, former Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, on his 98th birth anniversary.

In his message, Mir Ali Hassan Zehri said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto represents a glorious and unforgettable chapter in Pakistan’s political history. His visionary leadership, political wisdom and courageous decisions laid strong ideological foundations for the country. Historic national achievements such as the unanimous 1973 Constitution, the foundation of Pakistan’s nuclear program, and the landmark Islamic Summit Conference of 1974 stand as shining examples of Bhutto’s golden era.

He said that January 5 is not only the birthday of a great leader but also a reminder of the era of determination, courage, public service and ideological struggle initiated by the Quaid-e-Awam. Extending heartfelt congratulations to PPP workers, jiyalas and the people, he added that Shaheed Bhutto’s philosophy, struggle and sacrifices will always remain alive.

Mir Ali Hassan Zehri stated that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was not merely an individual but an ideology, a movement and a powerful symbol of people’s sovereignty. By raising the slogan of “Roti, Kapra aur Makaan” (Food, Clothing and Shelter), he gave voice, awareness and confidence to the poor and marginalized, assuring them that the state is responsible for their welfare. Empowering workers, peasants and oppressed classes with identity, rights and dignity was the cornerstone of Bhutto’s politics.

He further said that the Pakistan Peoples Party remains the only true democratic party of the poor and continues to follow the vision and ideals of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Under the prudent leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and the dynamic, youthful leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the party is actively working for the resolution of public issues, strengthening democracy and promoting social justice.

Mir Ali Hassan Zehri concluded by saying that the Quaid-e-Awam sacrificed his life for democracy, self-respect and the supremacy of the people but never compromised on principles. His martyrdom elevated him from a leader to an eternal symbol. Even today, Bhutto’s philosophy lives on in the hearts of the oppressed, and the Pakistan Peoples Party continues its struggle across the country to fulfill this historic mission.
