Balochistan Holds Key Importance for Pakistan’s Prosperity and Development: Field Marshal Asim Munir
**Islamabad:** According to ISPR, participants of the 18th National Workshop visited General Headquarters (GHQ), where Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir interacted with them and emphasized that Balochistan holds pivotal importance for Pakistan’s prosperity and overall development.
During his address, detailed discussions were held on Balochistan’s socio-economic development and its strategic significance. Field Marshal Asim Munir paid tribute to the patriotism, patience, resilience, and steadfastness of the people of Balochistan.
He expressed satisfaction over people-friendly development initiatives being undertaken by the federal and provincial governments and stressed that the province’s vast economic potential must be effectively utilized for the benefit of the local population.
The Field Marshal also appreciated the positive and responsible role of civil society in exposing negative propaganda. He remarked that the people of Balochistan are patriotic and courageous, and underscored the need to reject self-serving political agendas.
Highlighting security challenges, Field Marshal Asim Munir stated that proxies sponsored by India are spreading unrest in Balochistan. He reaffirmed that the security forces are fully determined to eliminate terrorism and instability, adding that any violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty would be met with a strong and decisive response. He reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully committed to protecting the lives and property of its citizens.
