Pakistan Declared “Winner,” India “Loser” in Trump’s New Foreign Policy: Foreign Policy Magazine

A leading US magazine, Foreign Policy, has described Pakistan as a “winner” and India as a “loser” under President Donald Trump’s new foreign policy, stating that the balance in Washington has shifted in Pakistan’s favor.

In its analysis, the magazine noted that Pakistan has achieved what many US allies could not—trust and direct access in Washington. According to Foreign Policy, Pakistan has once again emerged as a valuable and effective partner in the eyes of the United States.

The article stated that through pragmatic and results-oriented diplomacy aligned with Trump’s transactional foreign policy approach, Pakistan has rebuilt confidence and strengthened bilateral ties. Cooperation on counterterrorism and regional security has played a key role in this renewed relationship.

In contrast, the magazine placed India among the “losers,” citing growing frustration in Washington over New Delhi’s policies, particularly in trade and broader international engagements. Foreign Policy concluded that Pakistan’s diplomatic gains have influenced the regional strategic balance, leaving India under increased diplomatic pressure.
