National Party Demands Timely Local Elections in Quetta, Accuses Administrator of Multi-Billion Corruption

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta): The National Party (NP) convened a key meeting regarding the upcoming local government elections in Quetta, emphasizing the need for timely and transparent polls. Central Secretary General Mir Kabir Muhammad Shahi chaired the meeting, which was attended by party leaders, office-bearers, and candidates from Saryab, Chiltan, Zarghoon, and Takatu towns.
Mir Kabir Muhammad Shahi stated that parties attempting to delay elections through the courts should be rejected by voters, as their aim is to prevent Quetta from being governed by an elected representative instead of an administrator. He accused the current administrator of facilitating multi-billion rupee corruption and said the ruling parties are fearful of empowering the people through elected local governance.
Provincial President Aslam Baloch added that the elections are taking place at a time when rulers imposed in Balochistan seek to safeguard their positions by manipulating the judiciary, but the National Party will continue to pursue the matter legally.
Other leaders who spoke at the meeting included Dr. Ishaq Baloch, Mir Jan Baloch, Kulsoom Niaz, Chingiz Hai Baloch, Haji Atta Muhammad Bangulzai, Ali Ahmed Lango, Saad Dehwar, Haji Abdul Samad Rand, Saadia Badini, Fareeda Baloch, Riaz Zahri, Aslam Juttak, Hanif Kakr, Arif Kurd, Anil Ghori, Comrade Rehmatullah, Shams Bangulzai, and Yaseen Rand.
The NP reiterated its commitment to ensuring that Quetta is governed by elected representatives, highlighting that local bodies play a crucial role in curbing corruption and advancing development at the grassroots level.
