Makran and Kech Bar Associations Condemn Anti-Education Notification by Balochistan Government

Turbat:The Makran High Court Bar Association and Kech Bar Association have strongly condemned the recent government notification issued by the Balochistan administration, calling it “anti-education” and a direct threat to the academic structure of the province’s universities.
In a joint statement, the associations criticized the decision, warning that it will severely impact the teaching process in universities. They noted that in developed countries, the highest portion of national budgets is allocated to education and universities, whereas in Pakistan—particularly Balochistan—even university teachers are not paid on time.
The legal bodies demanded that the Government of Pakistan and the Balochistan government immediately increase teachers’ salaries and allocate the largest share of the upcoming budget to education. “A country cannot progress without investing in its teachers and educational institutions. When teachers prosper, the nation prospers,” the statement emphasized.
The bar associations also demanded the immediate withdrawal of the controversial government notification dated **May 22, 2025**, threatening strong protests if it is not rescinded. Furthermore, they called for reduced student fees, free transportation for students from remote areas, and the provision of all essential facilities to support their education.
The statement concludes with a firm warning that ignoring these demands will lead to widespread legal and civic protests across the province.
