US Thanks Pakistan for Considering Deployment of Troops to Gaza: Marco Rubio

Washington: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has expressed gratitude to Pakistan and several other countries for considering the deployment of military troops to help establish peace and security in Gaza, saying the offer is appreciated though no final commitments have yet been secured.

During a press conference at the US State Department, Marco Rubio was asked whether Pakistan had formally conveyed its willingness to send troops to Gaza for maintaining law and order.

In response, the US Secretary of State said the United States is deeply thankful to Pakistan for offering to become part of the Gaza peace plan, or at least for seriously considering participation. He clarified, however, that no country has so far given a final assurance regarding troop contributions.

Rubio said that Pakistan, along with other countries, is seeking answers to several important questions, after which the United States would be in a position to formally request participation in the Gaza peace initiative.

He further stated that he is confident there are a number of countries that are acceptable to all parties involved in the conflict and are willing to step forward to become part of a Gaza stabilization force.

The remarks highlight ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring stability in Gaza through international cooperation and peacekeeping arrangements.
