Miami:Former U.S. President **Donald Trump** claimed that after **Zoran Mamdani’s election as Mayor of New York City**, many residents will begin **leaving for Florida** to escape what he called Mamdani’s “communist ideology.”
Speaking at a **business forum in Miami**, Trump said New York City “**lost its sovereignty on election day**” and added, “Let’s see how Zoran Mamdani performs as mayor. We want New York to succeed, and we’ll help a little.”
He further remarked that **Miami will soon become a refuge** for those fleeing Mamdani’s policies. “People don’t want to live under communist ideas,” Trump said.
Trump advised the newly elected mayor to **build a cooperative relationship with Washington**, warning that “if Mamdani doesn’t cooperate, he will face serious consequences.” He also said he was **willing to talk to Mamdani**, adding, “If he wants to succeed, he must respect Washington.”
