Agriculture Key to Provincial Prosperity, All Development Projects Must Be Completed on Time: Mir Ali Hassan Zehri

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) — **Provincial Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives, Mir Ali Hassan Zehri**, has emphasized that the **agriculture sector is the backbone of Balochistan’s development and prosperity**. Speaking at a progress review meeting on ongoing agricultural development projects, he stressed that all projects should be completed within their timelines to ensure that farmers and residents of the province fully benefit.
Minister Zehri highlighted that the majority of the province’s population depends on agriculture for their livelihood, making it imperative to modernize and strengthen the Agriculture and Cooperative Department. He said, “If agriculture prospers, the entire province will progress. Development in agriculture directly or indirectly impacts every resident of Balochistan.”
During the meeting, **Secretary of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Noor Ahmed Parkani**, along with departmental directors (DJs) and senior officials, provided detailed briefings on the performance of their respective divisions and the status of projects for the fiscal year 2025-26. The officials also outlined challenges faced in project execution.
The provincial minister stressed the importance of aligning the agriculture sector with contemporary requirements, stating that collective efforts are essential for the sector’s growth. He further cited President **Asif Ali Zardari’s vision** for a developed and prosperous Balochistan and urged the department to remove all obstacles hindering provincial progress.
He concluded that successful completion of these projects will not only strengthen the agriculture sector but also bring economic benefits to every farmer and citizen, contributing to overall provincial prosperity.
