PTI Leader Quits Party Over Anti-Army Statements

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Tehsil President Major (R) Tariq Mahmood has announced his resignation from the party over what he described as the party’s increasing anti-army stance.
Addressing a press conference in Samahni, Bhimber district of Azad Kashmir, Major (R) Tariq Mahmood said he could no longer remain part of a party that holds “hostile intentions” toward the Pakistan Army.
He said he was quitting PTI in protest against the statements being issued against the armed forces. “Nothing is above the homeland and the Pakistan Army. We stand shoulder to shoulder with our forces,” he added.
Major (R) Tariq Mahmood emphasized that the army is the pride of the nation, and he would not align himself with any narrative that undermines national security.
